du maire de Rome Francesco Rutelli, le ministère italien de la culture décide de lancer en 1998 un projet pour un vaste musée national. Le nom de MAXXI (Musée national des arts du XXIème siècle) est choisi enparti en référence au MACRO (autre musée moderne de Rome). L’architecte anglo-irakienne Zaha Hadid est sélectionnée pour la construction de l’édifice. Elle a été récompensée en 2010 par le prix Stirling pour cette réalisation. Rome le 21/12/2010. MAXXI museum in Rome. This museum was inaugurated May 30, 2010. The construction of buildings with an area of 27,000 m2 is carried out from 2002 to 2007 at a cost of 150 million euros. The interior is made from 2007 to 2009 with the development of collections. Created under the leadership of the mayor of Rome Francesco Rutelli, the Italian Ministry of Culture in 1998 decided to launch a project for a vast national museum. The name MAXXI (National Museum of XXI Century Arts) is chosen in reference to MACRO (another modern museum in Rome). Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid has been selected for the construction of the building. She was rewarded in 2010 by the Stirling Prize for this achievement. Rome on 21/12/2010.
